Eccola, una delle due Protee che mi sono regalata , fiore di straordinaria bellezza !.

 La PROTEA , fiore Simbolo del Sud Africa

Un bellissimo fiore che si apre a ben oltre 300 varietà diverse appartiene alla Famiglia delle Proteaceaae che si trovano principalmente a sud del fiume Limpopo ma il 90% al Capo .

Nel 1771 Carlo Linneo gli diede il nome di Protea  dal nome gredo del dio del mare Proteus , che amava cambiare le sue sembianze spesso ; così il fiore da una fantastica e coloratissima forma di carciofo si tramuta in una vibrante pigna . La Protea è una pianta arbustiva sempreverde  ed è caratterizzata da fusti lunghi e legnosi con poche ramificazioni e foglie lunghe verde scuro . la fioritura estiva pemette di ammirare la comparsa di infiorescenze riunite centralmente  e tenute insieme , abbracciate direi, da lunghe brattee colorate di bianco, giallo,rosa , arancio , rosso vivo.

Non è semplice averla fiorita dal seme e quindi è conveniente prenderla ... già fatta . Ricordate che non ama temperature al di sotto dei +16°C , zona assolata e non eccessiva acqua . Una cosa importante , se come questa mia, l'avete comprata recisa, dopo un paio di giorni toglietela dall'acqua e mettetela ad essiccare anche semplicemente unendola ad un altro vaso di fiori essiccati. E' splendida anche nelle composiozni ed a parte scolorirsi un poco, rimane assolutamenet intatta!

Voilà , une de mes deux fleurs de Protée que je me suis données , une fleur de grande beauté!

La Protée , fleur symbol de l'Afrique du Sud, qui comprend 300 variétés  appartenant à la Famille de Proteaceae qui vivent habituellement  au sud du fleuve Limpopo en Afrique du Sud et surtout au Cap .

En 1771 Carl Linné lui a donné le nom de Protea à la suite du nom du dieu grec de la mer , Protée ,  qui pouvait changer ses formes à sa volonté . Cela pour demontrer la variété de formes et des coloures des fleurs .

Arbuste vivant , elle n'est pas facile à etre culitvée pour ses fleurs : il vaut bien en acheter une déjà grandie. La Protée ne veut pas une temperature sous le + 16 °C , soleil et pas tellement d'eau.

Une chose importante : si on l'achete en fleurs individuelles , après 2-3 jours enlevez-le de l'eau et misez-le à sécher , aussi avec d'autres fleurs déjà séchées pour en faire une belle composition.

Here is one of the two Proteas I bought for myself (little gift!) , a wonderful flower!

Protea is the flower symbol of South Africa  which is including some 300 varieties of different colours and shapes . Different colours and shapes , that's why Carl Linnaeus in 1771 named this flower  after the name of the Greek god Proteus  who could change his appearences at his will . And Proteas change colours and shapes !

It's an evergreem shrub, not easy to grow up from a seed , it's better to buy the single plant and cultivate inan area with no less than +16°C , sun and little water .  It's a nice idea to take the single flowers from the vase of water after 2-3 days they are in  and place them to dry , alone or in a vase with other dried flowers . They can form a lovely composiiotn of dried flowers !

L’ABELIA è un genere di arbusto  sempreverde a foglie decidue.

Si coltiva all’aperto , specie nelle zone più miti d’Europa , mentre nelle regioni del Nord durante l’inverno devono essere assolutamente messe a riparo e protette .

I fiori sono tubolosi o campanulati e compaiono sui germogli laterali .

La più comunemente trovata in Italia e nelle aree miti d’Europa è l’ABELIA floribunda  la cui origine è del Messico, ma si trova ampiamente anche l’Abelia rupestris grandiflora, il genere orticolo di questo sempreverde .

Come arbusto  quest’ultimo tipo , ibrido, è quello più ampiamente incontrato può raggiungere facilmente i 2-3 metri di altezza  ed un’espansione in  diametro di oltre 1,5 metri.E’ un sempreverde rustico e presenta foglie piccole , lucide , ovali e di un verde brillante.

Fiorisce tra giugno ed ottobre ed i fiori sono tubolosi bianchi e rosa, leggermente profumati 8profumo quasi di cera d’api)  e sono di circa 2,5 cm .

Come l’Abelia Triflora, l’A. Schumannii, l’A. Chinensis, tutte le specie si interrano  tra settembre ed ottobre  o in marzo-aprile , in qualsiasi terreno del giardino , in pieno sole ma in zone protette dal vento.

Per la moltiplicazione, in giugno si prelevano dei rametti di 8-10 cm  e si piantano 3-4 per vaso con torba e sabbia . le talee devono radicare ad una temperatura non inferiore ai 18°-20°C e saranno pronte per essere messe a dimora nella primavera successiva.

L’ Abelia est un genre d'arbuste vivant.
 Il est cultivé à l'extérieur, en particulier dans les régions chaudes de l'Europe, tandis que dans le Nord pendant l'hiver, il doit être absolument protégé.
 Les fleurs sont tubulaires ou en forme de cloche et apparaissent sur les pousses latérales.
 On  le trouve en Italie et dans les zones à climat  doux de l'Europe surtout comme Abelia floribunda. Son origine est du  Mexique.Plus largement cultivé c’est l’Abelia   rupestris le genre horticoles à feuilles persistantes.
 L’A.rupestris,  comme un arbuste hybride, est le  type plus largement rencontré parce qu’il  peut facilement etre cultivé et  atteindre une hauteur de 2-3 mètres de diamètre , une expansion des feuilles persistantes de plus de 1,5 metri.. L’Abelia rupestris  a de petites feuilles, brillantes, de forme ovale  et d'un vert vif.
 Il fleurit entre Juin et Octobre et les fleurs sont roses et blanches tubulaires, ils sont  légèrement parfumée et sont d'environ 2,5 cm.
 Comme le genre Abelia triflora, A.  Schumann, A. Chinensis, il faut enterrer toutes les espèces entre Septembre et Octobre ou bien en Mars-Avril, dans la terre de jardin en plein soleil, mais dans les zones protégées du vent.
Pour la multiplication, les branches sont prises en Juin et elles sont de 8-10 cm et 3-4 ,plantés dans un pot avec du tourbe et de sable. les boutures sont enracinées à une température non inférieure à 18 ° -20 ° C et sont prêts à être plantés au printemps suivant.

The Abelia is a genus of deciduous evergreen shrub.
It is cultivated outdoors, especially in the warmer areas of Europe, while in the North
during winter they must be made absolutely secure and protected from cold winds.
The flowers are tubular or bell-shaped and appear on side shoots.
The most commonly type found in Italy and in mild areas of Europe is the ABELIA floribunda of  Mexican origins , but is widely cultivated the more rustic type , namely the Abelia  rupestris .

This last is also  a shrub but  hybrid and  it  can easily reach a height of 2-3 meters in diameter and a round  expansion of more than 1.5 metre . It’s a rustic evergreen and has got small leaves, which are glossy, oval and a bright green.
It flowers between June and October and the flowers are pink and white tubular, slightly fragrant and are about 2.5 cm. long
As the Abelia triflora, A. Schumann, A. Chinensis, all species should be placed in soil  between September and October or in March-April, in any garden soil in full sun but in areas protected from winds.
For multiplication, the branches are taken in June of 8-10 cm and planted in group of 3 or 4 in a pot with peat and sand. The cuttings will root at a temperature not less than 18 ° -20 ° C and will be  ready to be planted the following Spring.

Il bel PLUMBAGO (o Gelsomino azzurro) appartiene  alla Famiglia delle Plumbaginaceae ed è un sempreverde  e perenne  che può presentarsi a cespuglio o rampicante .

 Le origini sono del Sud Africa e dell’Europa meridionale . Tuttavia oggi la si può trovare in altre parti del mondo dove il clima è comunque in generale mite.

 I fiori a 5 lobi sono uniti a grappolo   e sono principalmente di  colore bianco o azzurro pervinca.

Le foglie piuttosto lunghe ed oblunghe  leggermente ondulate sul bordo.La pianta fiorisce fra Aprile ed Ottobre . Dopo la fioritura è bene tagliare via i fiori secchi.

 E’ soprattutto pianta da esterno, dove predilige zone assolate. In appartamento è portarla all’esterno su un balcone durante la stagione calda  dove vuole in ogni caso irrigazioni regolari (specie in estate) ma senza ristagni d’acqua , in posizione comunque non a sole diretto  .

Se all’interno, si può rinvasare ogni 2 anni circa con un vaso leggermente più grado nel periodo primaverile.  Evitare gli sbalzi di temperature, sono altamente nocivi! Si può concimare  di tanto in tanto nel periodo di fioritura ,

Per la riproduzione si possono prendere talee legnose. In primavera oppure raccogliere  i semi che non sono altro che le coppe  sotto ogni fiore  che devono essere essiccate e quindi trapiantate .E' generalmente resistente alle malattie ed a molti insetti ma può soffrire  degli attacchi di qualche parassita e dei ragnetti rossi

  The Leadwort or Skyflower or Plumbago  is an evergreen perrenial shrub which, if pruned to grow like a vine, can be more similar to a climbing plant than a shrub! It belongs to the Family of the Plumbagnaceae and is native to South Africa and Southern Europe.It can be found even in other parts of the world but always in areas with mild climate.

Plumbago flowers can be white or sky blue  and are collected in groups over a round cluster . Each flower is formed by 5 petals . The leaves are light green short and oblong-shaped .Flowers, once dried , should be cut off the plant .

Plumbago normally grows up in gardens but it can be also kept in vases on a terrace . Both in  gardens and terraces  it should be placed in sunny areas .It  flowers normally between April and October. During the hot season should get little regular  waterings without exagerating . Plumbago likes acid soil and little lime to help it from time to time. You can change vase to it every 2 years .If on a terrace , it doesn't like sudden change of temperatures , therefore in cold season, keep it repaired.

Propagate plumbago can occur from semiripe tip cuttings in the hot season. Otherwise with its seeds , through the cluster under each flower ,fried and later put in drained soil . Usually it's a quite strong plant but still it can suffers from parasites and red spider  attacks.

Le Plumbago ou Dentelliere du Cap appartient à la Famille de Plumbagacées, originaire de l'Afrique du Sud  et de l'Europe du Sud. Aujourd'hui on la trouve dans pleusieures parties du monde mais toujours où il a un clima douce .

Le Plumbago est une plante vivante, sarmenteuse et aussi grimpante .Elle fleurit à partir du mois d'Avril jusqu' à Octobre normalement.Ses fleurs peuvent etre blanches ou bien bleu ciel  et sont regroupées en panicules terminales chaqun surmontée par  une petite coupe . Chaque fleur a 5 pétals.

La plante peut être cultivée dans un jardin ou bien gardée dans un vase à l'intérieur pendant la mauvaise saison autrement sur une terrace mais toujours au soleil. Aroser regulierement sans exagèrer et jamais laisser de l'eau dans le soucoup!

Elle peut souffrir pour la présence de parasites (pucerons) ou bien d' araignées rouges .

 FICO D'INDIA- BARBARY FIG - FIGUIER DE BARBARIE

L'OPUNTIA FICUS-INDICA è comunemente conosciuto come il FICO D'INDIA , pianta succulenta della Famiglia delle Cactaceae originaria del Messico dove già gli Atzechi la coltivavano e le davano garnde importanza come pianta sacra dalla forte simbologìa. Arrivò in Europa alla fine del 1400 primi anni del 1500, grazie alle spedizioni di Cristoforo Colombo, mentre era già conosciuta anche a Cuba e nelle aree caraibiche .

La pianta - arbusto può raggiungere i 5 metri , è essenzialmente composta da "PALE" (Cladodi)verdi , foglie enormi che con il processo di fotosintesi sono diventate appunto verdi e formano il tronco della pianta.

Ciascuna Pala ha un tessuto carnoso, coperto da una cuticola cerosa,  che permette insieme alle spine di cui è ricoperta di ridurre l'evaporazione dell'umidità della pianta al sole mantenendo inalterato il sistema di alimentazione della pianta.

Ama le aree calde , aride ed atticchisce molto facilmente: spesso è considerata infestante! E' sufficiente tagliare una "pala" , metterla in terreno brullo, arido e in breve tempo atticchisce e si sviluppa enormemente .

L'Opuntia fiorisce a maggio-giugno ed ha una seconda fioritura in agosto-settembre. E' dopo quest'ultima fioritura che si producono i FRUTTI  di forma allungata ,dai colori diversi giallo -arancio, rosso sanguigno , bianchi, dolci e commestibili.Trovate questa pianta nella fascia Mediterranea d'Europa, Sardegna, Sicilia, Calabria , Puglia e poi, a Malta, Tunisia, Turchia, Sud Africa , Cile, Brasile, Messico, USA ,..

I frutti oltre ad essere mangiati freschi , sono utilizzati anche per produrre liquori, sciroppi (Miel de tuna , in Messico) , gelatine , marmellate ,ecc..

Ha proprietà antiossidanti il frutto e favorisce il metabolismo.

Il fico d'India compare sullo stemma  della bandiera del Messico e, una curiosità, il nome dell'antica capitale degli Atzechi , Tenochtitlan (oggi Città del Messico) derivava dal termine NOCTHLI che in atzeco significava fico d'india e quindi letteralmente la città significava  " FICODINDIA SU UNA ROCCIA" !

The Opuntia ficus-indica is commonly known as Indian Fig or Barbary Fig, the succulent plant of the Family of the Cactaceae ,native of Mexico where the Aztecs cultivated it and used to give it a great importance as a sacred plant for its strong and powerful symbolism.

The plant arrived in Europe between  the end of 1400 and  early 1500, thanks to  Columbus's ship travels overseas, but it was also known in Cuba and the Caribbean areas.

The commonly English known PRICKLY PEAR can reach 5 meters heighty and  is essentially composed by "paddles" (cladodes/nopales ) green which are  large  leaves that under the photosynthesis process have become green and at the same time form the trunk of the plant.

Each paddle has a fleshy texture and  it's  covered by a waxy cuticle which allows together with the thorns covering its surface to reduce evaporation of humidity under  the sun while maintaining the feeding system of the plant absolutely balanced . 

Opuntia loves hot and dry areas and grows up very quickly: that's why it is often considered weed ..  It 's only necessary to  cut a "paddle ", put it in the dry soil and it quickly spread all around!.

The Opuntia flowers in May-June first then also in August-September. And after this last flowering it produces oblung -shaped fruits of different colors from yellow-orange, blood red, whitewhich are  sweet and edible.

The fruits can be eaten fresh, but they can be also used to produce liqueurs, syrups (Miel de tuna, Mexico), jellies, jams, etc. ..

The fruit has got antioxidant properties and promotes metabolism. You can find  this plant in the Mediterranean regions of Europe, Sardinia, Sicily, Calabria, Puglia and then, in Malta, Tunisia, Turkey, South Africa, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, USA ..

The Barbary Fig appears on the Mexican flag and , curious to know , the name of the ancient Aztec capital city of Tenochtitlan (now Mexico City) was derived from the Aztec word meaning NOCTHLI (prickly india) and therefore the city meaning is "prickly pear on a rock"!

Le FIGUIER de Barbarie ou Cactus Opuntia Ficus-indica est une plante  de la famille des Cactacées , originaire du Mexique où les Aztèques l'utilisaient et la cultivaient en lui donner une grande importance  comme plante sacrée pour son  symbolisme puissant et fort .

La plante est arrivée en Europe entre la fin de 1400 et le début du 1500, grâce aux voyages de Colombus , mais elle était aussi déjà connue à Cuba et dans les régions des Caraïbes.

Cet arbuste succulent peut atteindre 5 mètres d'hauteur et il est essentiellement composé de "RAQUETTES" (cladodes / nopales) ,de grandes feuilles  qui sous le processus de photosynthèse  sont devenues vertes et forment aussi le tronc de la plante.

Chaque raquette  a une consistence  charnue et elle est couverte par une cuticule cireuse qui permet, avec les épines couvrant sa surface ,de  réduire l'évaporation de son humidité sous le soleil ,tout en conservant son  système nutritionnel absolument  constant.

L'Opuntia aime les zones chaudes et sèches et grandit très vite: c'est pourquoi il est souvent considéré comme de mauvaises herbes .. Il est seulement nécessaire de couper un "paddle", le mettre dans le sol sec et il s'est rapidement répandue tout autour!.

Les fleurs d'Opuntia s'épanouissent en Mai-Juin d'abord, mais aussi en Août-Septembre. Et après cette dernière floraison l'O. produit  fruits ,oblongs ,de différentes couleurs :jaune-orangé, rouge sang, blancs qui  sont sucrés et comestibles.

Les fruits peuvent être consommés frais, mais aussi utilisées pour produire des liqueurs, sirops (Miel de thon, Mexique), gelées, confitures, etc ..

Le fruit a des propriétés antioxydantes et favorise le métabolisme. Vous pouvez trouver cette plante dans les régions méditerranéennes de l'Europe, Sardaigne, Sicile, Calabre, Pouilles et ensuite, à Malte, Tunisie, Turquie, Afrique du Sud, Chili, Brésil, Mexique, Etats-Unis ..

Le figuier de Barbarie apparaît sur le drapeau mexicain et, curieux de savoir, le nom de la ville et ancienne capitale aztèque de Tenochtitlan (aujourd'hui Mexico City) est dérivé du mot signifiant NOCTHLI en aztèque (Barbarie Inde) et donc le sens ville est «figue de Barbarie sur un rocher "!

  Il Melograno , arbusto o piccolo albero , appartiene alla Famiglia delle Lythraceae e può crescere fino a 5-7 metri di altezza. Le sue origini sono dell'Altopiano dell'Iran (antica Persia )  e della zona dell'Himalaya.

Il nome deriva dalla combinazione Latina Pomum (Mela) e granatus (con semi /grani) . Tuttora viene coltivato in Iran , Pakistan, nel Nord India, Turkey,in Afghanistan  ma anche nel Sud della Cina (Via della Seta) .

Il Melograno ha foglie opposte, lucide , piuttosto strette ed allungate (attorno ai 7 cm). Come vedete dalle foto i FIORI sono rosso-arancio molto brillante , di un diametro che parte da 1 a 3-4 cm con 4-5 petali rigidi.

dal fiore , crescono i FRUTTi che nelle piante di varietà Granatum Nana ( tipo bonsai) non sono commestibili mentre nelle altre varietà i frutti sono grandi , profumati, commestibili nella parte interna con i semi "arilli" (in foto)  circondati da una polpa un pò gelatinosa e lucida .

Nella storia Ebraica , il melograno ed il suo frutto in particolare sono considerati simbolo di Onestà e Correttezza , dato che i suoi 613 semi interni rappresentano le 613 perle di saggezza trascritte nella Torah , osservando le quali  un individuo si arricchisce di saggezza ed equità.  Il Melograno ed il suo frutto sono anche menzionati nella Bibbia e nel Corano  come pure ve ne sono traccia nell'Antica Grecia . Molte testimonianze inoltre del Melograno anche in importantissime rappresentazioni pittoriche e scultoriche.

La Coltivazione avviene , se non a livello industriale, anche in vasi per terrazzi e balconi oppure direttamente in terra per giardini (in foto) . La moltiplicazione avviene per seme. La pinata va innaffiata regolarmente specie nei periodi caldi senza esagerare  e normalmente il melograno si rileva essere una pianta robusta e raramente attaccata da insetti e parassiti.

The Pomegranate  is a shrub or small tree  which belongs to the Lythaceae Family and can grow up to 6-7 mt tall . It's a fruit-bearing shrub and tree.  Its origins are from the Iranian Plateau (acient  Persia) and the region of Himalaya . The name comes from the Latin POMUM (Apple) and GRANATUS (seeded /grains). The edible Pomegrenate trees are cultivated Iran, Pakistan, North india, Turkey, Afghanistan , Southern China (along the Silk Road ) .

The Pomegranate has got opposite leaves, , narrow and oblong, glossy , long about 7 cm (2 ½ inches) .As you can see in photo, Fruits are brilliant red-orange colour , the diameter is between 1 and 3 cm (1 inch) with stiff petals  from which ,( exception made for the Pomegranate Granatum Nana (Bonsai measure..) which fruits are not edible) , come the big edible parfumed fruits of rounded exagonal shape with edible seeds ("arils")plunged  in edible lightly jelly pulp.

In the Jewish culture, Pomegranate and its fruit are considered symbols of Honesty and Integrity , since the 613 seeds of each fruit represent the 613 pearls of wiseness contemplated in the Torah, through which and followoing them  a person enrich his wiseness and moral integrity.

pomegranate was considered in the pagan culture of the Ancient Greece , it's mentioned in the Bible and in the Coran  and it is present in many religious painting and sculptures.

For home decoration , you can cultivate the Pomegranate also in a vase of your terrace or in the soil of your garden . It is propagated by seeds and should be watered regularly without exceeding . It's a rather healthy plant and rarely attacked by insects.

  La grenadier est un petit arbre ou arbuste qui appartient à la Famille des Lythaceae et peut pousser jusqu'à 6-7 mètres de hauteur. C'est un arbuste /arbre fruitier . Ses origines sont du Plateau Iranien (ancienne Perse) et la région de l'Himalaya. Le nom vient du Latin POMUM (Pomme) et granatus (grains). Les arbres de Granadier commestibles sont cultivés  en  Iran, Pakistan, Inde du Nord, Turquie, Afghanistan, Chine du Sud (le long  la Route de la Soie).

Le granadier a  des feuilles opposées, étroites et allongées, brillantes, longues environ 7 cm .Comme vous pouvez le voir en photo, les fruits sont  couleur rouge orangé brillant, le diamètre est compris entre 1 et 3 cm  avec des pétales de raideur à partir de laquelle, (exception faite pour la Nana grenade Granatum (mésure Bonsai ..) dont les fruits ne sont pas comestibles), viennent les grands fruits comestibles parfumées de forme hexagonale arrondie avec des graines comestibles («arilles») plongés dans une pulpe  légèrement gélatineuse.

Dans la Culture Juive , le granadier et son fruit represent les symboles de Honnêteté et d'Intégrité puisque ses 613 grains sont considérés comme les 613 perles de sagesse contemplées dans la Torah , 613 régles/consiels qui rendent l'homme honnête et intègre.

Le Grenadier est aussi mentionné dans la Bible et dans le Coran comme ;il était aussi hautement consideré dans L'ancienne Grèce et aussi présent dans beaucoup de chefs -d'oeuvre de peinture et de sculpture.

La Coltivation au niveau non-industriel peut etre fait en vase , par grains. La petite plante est très décorative pour une terrace , un jardin . Elle doit etre arosée regulièrement sans exagérer et normalement  elle est une plante assez saine et très rarement attaquée par les parassites.

 DELOSPERMA Cooperi

 Questo è il periodo migliore per vedere una distesa di Delosperma  ( qui della specie Cooperi) , una pianta perenne originaria del Sud Africa  della Famiglia dei Mesembryanthemaceae .

Il genere Delosperma (dal greco DELOS/VISIBILE e SPERMA/SEME) conta  più di 150 varietà diverse ma il genere più diffuso è quello della Cooperi dal fiore viola intenso . Esistono D.a fiore giallo (D.Lineare) , arancio(D.Dyeri) , bianchi (D.LebomboenseSono piante che amano i climi caldi , le zone aridi e molto assolate ma la mia come tante altre ha saputo adattarsi anche ai freddi più pesanti come quelli recenti in Nord Italia .Riesce infatti ad arrivare a temperature ampiamente sotto zero ma , come ho fatto io, l'ho semplicemente avvolta in un pezzo di tessuto lana di vetro che l'ha riparata dal freddo rigido.

La pianta si estende a tappeto ma può essere anche ricadente e spesso anche rampicante se coltivata fra piccole rocce di giardini .

I fiori si aprono in pieno giorno ed al sole per poi richiudersi verso sera . Va innaffiata quando il terreno è completamente asciutto , secco ma senza eccedere : teme infatti i ristagni di acqua .

Per quanto riguarda la moltiplicazione , la stessa può avvenire per seme (alcune pinate ne sono dotate e i semi si raccolgono facilmente) ma più semplicemente per talea: si stacca un rametto di 5-10 cm e si mette in terriccio bagnandolo leggermente all'inzio , dopo qualche giorno spunterà la prima foglia.

Le Delosperma

C'est le meilleur moment maintenant pour voir fleurir le DELOSPERMA (ici, en photo, le mien, D.Cooperi)

dans les jardins, plante vivace, succulente  originaire de l'Afrique du Sud de la Famille de Mesembryanthemaceae.

Les genre de Delosperma (du grec Delos /Visible et Sperma /Grain) comprend plus de 150 espèces dont la plus commune est la Dwelosperma Cooperi avec les fleurs violet foncé.

Il y a le Delosperma avec les fleurs jaunes (D. linéaire), oranges (D. Dyer), blanches (D. Lebomboense 9 et aussi roses, rouge-rose, etc. ce sont des plantes qui aiment la chaleur donc les endroits chauds et secs mais elles prendent aussi les habitudes des Pays où elle vivent , comme ici au Nord de l'Italie et elles passe quand meme un hiver très rigide pour fleurir regulièrement! Pendant la saison froide seulement les réparer sous un morceau de laine-vitre et c'est tout. Aroser sans excéder toutefois.

Les fleurs s'ouvrent le matin avec le soleil et se ferment le soir .

Pour avoir une autre petite plante, il faut seulement prendre une petite branche de 5-10 cm  et la mettre dans le terrein legerment humide. C'est tout , aprés quelque jour il y aura la première feuille verte!

This is the best time to start seeing blooming Delopserma in gardens and rockeries  (in photo, my D.Cooperi) , perennial succulent plant native of South Africa  of the Family of Mesembryanthemaceae.

The genus of Delosperma (from Greek DELOS/VISIBLE & SPERMA/SEED) includes over 150 species  of which the most common  is the Cooperi species, which flowers are deep purple. There are yellow flowers (D. Linear), orange (D. Dyer), white (D. Lebomboense9 and also pink , pink-red , etc.

These are plants that love hot weatherand and grow in  dry and very sunny areas but I like many others has also been able to adapt to the cold as heavy as recent ones in northern Italy. It can survive to temperatures  below zero but, as I did, it should be wrapped in a piece of wool fabric that  sheltered it from cold.

D. can be upright, procumbent , prostrate and even cliff-dwelling  with succulent root system (retainain water to survive!)

To get a new plant , take a 5-10 cm branch and place it in soil lightly wetted .in a short time , you will get the first leave !

ALLIUMS

Che spettacolo dal fiorista questi fiori di aglio sopra degli steli di oltre 1 metro!! Mai visto così bene da vicino, con questi colori così belli e poco odoranti! Ma giorni fa, li ho visti lì pronti per decorare un mazzo di fiori e non ho potuto non scattare qualche foto.

Della Famiglia delle Liliaceae(ma si dice che siano piuttosto della gruppo delle Cipolle)   con oltre 100 specie diverse .Il tipo nelle foto è l'ALLIUM GIGANTEUM , con fiori a sfera  , larghi formati da tantissimi piccolissimi fiori violetti.Sono piante perenni, stanno bene al sole , possono vivere in terreni poveri e con molto caldo.

Fioriscono in Giugno-Luglio .

Lovely to see this Allium flower (garlic flower) , with ball-shaped large flowers supported by a 60-90 cm stem(20-30 inches) , in this case purple for the type ALLIUM GIGANTEUM . I saw it  in the flower shop and decided to stop and take some photos. Too unusual as decorating flower! It's a perennail plant of the Liliaceae Family (someone says it belongs to the Family of the Onions instead) . It lives in sunny places, often in poor soils  and at high temperatures .

Très jolie cette fleur de l'ail que j'ai vu dans un magazin de fleurs et dont j'ai décidé de prendre quelques photos. De la Famille de Liliaceae (mais on dit qu'il est plutot de la Famille des ognons) , le type en bas violet Parme est l'Allium Giganteum  avec une fleur ronde soutenu par un tige de 6-90 cm d'hauteur .. Cette plante vit dans des endroits chauds et ensoleillés et dans des terreins assez pauvres. Elle fleurit en Juin - Juillet et vient souvent utilisée pour dècorer la maison .

Questa é la CONVALLARIA  Horan della Famiglia delle Convallariaceae, il cui tipo più comune è la Convallaria Majalis o MUGHETTO

E' una pianta perenne e si moltiplica a mezzo SEME . Predilige luoghi freschi ombreggiati o semi-ombreggiati  al caldo forte , mentre richiede innaffiature abbondanti ma senza ristagni . E' una pianta origianria dell?Europa e dell'Asia ed ama crescere  nei boschi e sulle colline .Normalmente ogni pianta è formata da 2 foglie  lanceolate , di color verde brillante  , larghe e turgide , da cui spunta in mezzo nel periodo estivo un rizoma a cui sono appesi piccoli fiori a campanella bianchi e profumatissimi rivolti verso il basso.

Solitamente il Mughetto non teme afidi o parassiti.

Sembra che la tradizione di rappresentare il 1° Maggio con il mughetto risalga  al Rinascimento con il Re di Francia Carlo IX al quale , il 1° Maggio del 1561 , siano stati offerti tanti mazzetti di mughetto come Portafortuna. al momento è anche il fiore anzionale della Finlandia .

Voilà la CONVALLARIA Majalis ou bien le MUGUET de Mai , plante vivace, qui aime les régions et les endroits frais , ombragés des bois et des collines . Parmi deux feuilles lancéolées et vertes , il y a une tige qui support une grappe de petites fleurs blanc très parfumées , à forme de clochette .Elle peut etre mulpitpliée par ses grains . Le muguet a besoin d'eau mais sans exagérer .Habituellement le Muguet n'est pas attaqué par les aphidius et les parassites.

La tradition du muguet du 1er Mai semble remonter au Royame de Charles IX , pendant la Renaissance,quand on lui a offert des bouquest de muguet comme Porte-bonheur. Le Muguet est aussi la fleur nationale de la Finlande .

The CONVALLARIA Majalis , commonly known as LILY-OF-THE-VALLEY , herbaceous perrenial plant  which loves cool, shadowed areas of woods and hills. From the two basic stems of 20-30 cm rise the two

leaves between which a long stem brings some 6 to 16 little white and scented  bell-shaped flowers .

The plant can be reproduced by seeds  and it is not attaked by aphids and other insects . Traditions wants that the Lily of the Valley is the flower of May 1st, specially bin France  where the legend dates back to the period of Renaissance and the kingdom of Charles IX  who received from his people , on May1st 1561, bunches of Lily of the Valley as symbol of Goodluck . Today it is the national flower of Finland .

Solo due secondi vi ruberò per mostrarvi la foto di una casa , costruita agli inizi del 2000 dove la facciata è interamente coperat di glicine bianco. Semplicemente fantastica!

Je vous vole seulement 2 seconds pour vous montrer un batiment construit au debut de 2000 dont la façade est entièrement recoubverte par les glicines blancs . Je le trouve formidable !

Just a few seconds to show you this building dated beninning 2000 which front side is entirely covered by a white Wisteria. I think it's wonderful!
