Présentation au Temple
Un proverbio italiano dice :
"Quando vien la Candelora dall'inverno semo fora , ma se piove e tira vento nell'inverno semo dentro!
Guardado fuori dalla finestra credo che possiamo dirci ancora in inverno!!
A parte questo bel proverbio , oggi è la CANDELORA , festa religiosa che identifica la Presentazione di Gesù al
Tempio.
Il nome deriva dal fatto che in questa giornata si benedicono le candele simbolo di Gesù, luce che illumina i popoli. La Presentazione al Tempio all'epoca , per i primogeniti maschi..
E' anche vista come la giornata della Purificazione di Maria Santissima , perchè senco la tradizione ebraica , una
donna era impura per un periodo di 40 giorni dopo aver partorito un figlio maschio e doveva andare al tempio per purificarsi. Visto che Gesù è nato il 25 Dicembre , 40 giorni equivale al 2
febbraio .
La Candelora è onorata dalla Chiesa Anglicana, da quella Luterana , dalla Chiesa Cattaolica, da quelal
Ordodossa. All'epoca di Roma Antica, si festeggiava i LUPERCALI (lupercalia in latino) che celebrava la purificazione dai mesi nefasti di Febbraio (15) edicando la festa al dio
Fauno(Luperc0) protettore del bestiame dagli attacchi dei lupi.
Celebrazioni di oggi
In Italia si celebra con la benedizione in Chiesa delle
candele .Questo giorno è considerato
l'ultimo dell'Inverno(!!). In Francia , cuocendo
crêpes da mangiare solo dopo le 8 di sera (se il cuoco capovolgerà una crepe tenendo una moneta nell'altra mano, la famiglia avrà prosperità per tutto l'anno).
In Messico si festeggia con le Tamales , un piatto speciale la cui origine si rifà agli Atzechi. Negli
USA ed in Canada , il 2 Febbraio è la Giornata della Marmotta : secondo la tradizione , se è nuvoloso la marmotta esce dalla sua tana tranquillamente e la primavera arriverà presto. Se
esce e trova il sole, vedendo la propria ombra tornerà nella tana e l'inverno durerà altre 6 settimane almeno! I marinai preferiscono non uscire in barca oggi perchè il loro viaggio potrebbe
rivelarsi un disastro.

Proverbs aside, today February 2nd is Candlemas a religious festival celebrating the PRESENTATION OF
CHRIST in the Temple. The name "Candlemas" comes from the fact that in this days candles are blessed as symbols of Jesus, light of the
peoples.
The Presentation in the Temple , at His time, was only due for the first-born baby
boy.
It is also seen as the day of the PURIFICATION of the Blessed Virgil Mary ,since according to the Jewish
tradition, a woman was unclean for a period of 40 days after giving birth to a baby boy and had to go to the Temple to purify. Jesus was born Dec.25 and 40 days after, February 2nd , is the
Purification day.
Candlemas is honoured by the Anglican and teh Lutheran Churches , by the Catholic and the Ortodox
Churches.
In Ancient Rome , the Lupercalias (latin "Lupercalia") were celebrated as a pagan festival for the
purification from the negative days of February , honouring the god Faunus (Luperco) protector of the cattle from the attacks of the wolves.
TODAYS CELEBRATIONS
In Italy it is celebrated blessing the candles in the
Church and it is considered the last day of Winter , in France with crêpes to be eaten only after 8h00PM (If the cook can flip a crepe while
holding a coin in the other hand , the family will have prosperity throughout the year), In Mexico it celebrated with the Tamals , a special
dish which dates back to the Atzecs . Sailors are a bit reluctant to sail on this day cause their voyage could be a disaster
In USA & Canda Feb.2 is the Groundhg Day :
according to the tradition, if it is cloudy when a groundhog comes out of its burraow , Spring will come early. If sunny, it will be its shadow and retreat back into the burrow and Winter
will stay for six more weeks!

Proverbes apart, aujourd'hui, c'est la Chandeleur fête
religieuse cqui célèbre la Présentation de Christ au Temple. Le
nom «Chandeleur» vient du fait que dans ce jour on bénit
toutes les bougies qui sont symboles de Jésus, lumière des peuples.
La Présentation au Temple, à Son époque, était obligatoire seulement
pour le premier-né (garçon).
En outre, il est considéré comme le jour de la Purification de la Vièrge Marie :
selon la tradition juive, une femme était impure pour une
période de 40 jours après avoir donné naissance à un petit garçon et donc après elle
devait aller au Temple pour se purifier. Jésus était né le Dec.25
et 40 jours après, 2 Février c'est le Jour de la
Purification.

Dans l'Ancienne Rome

Les Célébrations d'aujourd'hui
En Italie, on célèbreavec la bénédictions des bougies
dans l'égliese . Le 2 Février est considéré comme le dernier jour d'Hiver (!!). En France, avec des
crêpes à manger seulement après 8h00PM (Si le
cuisinier peut retourner une crêpe tout en tenant une pièce dans
l'autre main, la famille aura prospérité pendant toute
l'année), Au Mexique, il est célébré avec les
Tamales, un plat spécial qui remonte à l'Atzecs.
Aux
États-Unis et Canada Feb.2 est la Journée Groundhg: selon la tradition, s'il y a des nuages quand une marmotte sort de son terrier, le Printemps viendra tôt. S'il ya le soleil , la marmotet verra son ombre et bettera en retraite dans le terrier et l'hiver restera pendant six semaines et
plus!
Les marins sont un peu réticents à naviguer dans ce jour à cause du fait que
leur voyage pourrait être un désastre
